Earthein Library
Legend has said there used to be a wizard that lived in this tower and vanished without a trace, leaving his collection of scrolls and books. It's unconfirmed if that is the case, but the people believe someone must have lived here due to there being a small living area at the top of the tower. Over the years as the tower stood time and war and more books and knowledge were collected, the tower was renovated into a library to house the ever-growing collection of history and stories. Every story and book available on the island was taken to be part of this library, including books from Cloudiaon, Fountania, and even the Sea Crosser's Settlement. Some have even traveled to the other islands and have brought written stories from the islands to add to the library here. Everyone is welcome to come and read in this library, no matter where they're from.
Purpose / Function
Since it is a library, it holds books. A bit self-explanatory.
Contents & Furnishings
Aside from books, tables and chairs and couches scatter the floor of the library, making places to sit and enjoy or study the books available. on the fourth floor, there is an area with couches and a small table meant to be a more socializing area, where friends can come and chat and share some handheld treats. Princess Jade and her ladies-in-waiting often come up here to have tea and chat.
Alterations
Bookshelves, tables, and scribe corners have been added to this tower to make it into a library. They've also changed some of the floor plans of each level (five levels, six including the top living area) to make it better access to each floor and the bookshelves along the walls.
Architecture
Unlike most of the Earthein architecture, which is brightly colored with a waterproof roof to collect rainwater, this old tower is a dull grey, covered in ivy and vines, with a shingled roof on top, windows pecking out of the roof.
History
The tower was originally left on its own, afraid there might be something sinister hiding in it, but when one brave (or perhaps foolish) man walked into the tower, he found it empty, with scrolls and books the only thing inside. With the discovery of these items, and the current holder of the already existing scrolls and books, the tower was declared the library. Renovations to make it better suited for its new purpose began and seven months after working on it, the Earthin Library was made, the scrolls and books having a new permanent home. Throughout the years to come, more books would be written or discovered and added to this library. Some of the books come from the other two kingdoms, from the Sea Crossers', and even other islands, either as a gift or a souvenir.
