Tiefling
Relatively speaking one of the younger races to call the South home, Tieflings are living reminders of the scars inflicted by the Old War. This unfortunate people were born from mutant humans - during the war it is believed that Northern warlocks cursed a battalion of human soldiers with forbidden demonic magic (theorised to be from that of Morgion), afflicting the troops with a new and incurable curse. Although no records exist of this condition being transferred to healthy humans, the survivors and their families were still kept isolated as far as possible from the rest of society in a small settlement on the southern coast for fears that an epidemic could hamper the war effort. Most survived the curse, albeit with their bodies twisted and deformed, but there was still more tragedy to come for them - whatever the warlocks inflicted on them that day also affected their children, their bodies mutated even further to the point that they were no longer even recognisable as humans - the first Tieflings had been born. Today most Tiefings still reside in Ribfaran where their ancestors were quarantined, and are loathe to venture into other settlements where they are never welcomed - locals fearing the same potential epidemic that forced the Proto-Tieflings into isolation.
