Tomas' son by his first marriage stages coup and slays Tomas in a duel.

Ira Kelan Mekulet, Tomas’s 28-year-old son by his first wife, rallies discontented eastern Mekulet clans and stages a coup.   Ira slays Tomas in a duel. The Triam arrests him for high treason, which makes the eastern Mekulets revolt.   Laestre is declared regent until Ceres comes of age
