Sir Marius Kyrun Mekulet (a.k.a. The Sword of Flame)
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Marius is athletic, built more for movement than strength. He's a bit scruffy, but most of his fans agree that this just heightens his "dashing allure." In 470, Marius was voted Second Most Handsome Mikel's Sword by the Imperia Chronicle (after Sir Gabriel).
Special abilities
As a member of House Mekulet, Marius inherited fire channeling. He commonly uses it strategically (creating smoke screens, etc.), but is particularly fond of setting his blade on fire, purely for the flashy fun of it.
One technique he has mastered, however, is that of "fire-jacking" against air channelers. He can set the air itself on fire, which allows him to wrest control away from any air channeler he might face. For this reason, he has never lost a duel against an air channeler.
Apparel & Accessories
Marius' ears are pierced. Even when out of the signature white tabard that Mikel's Swords wear, he has a distinctive set of silver sword-shaped earrings that he proudly displays.
Specialized Equipment
Marius' signature weapon is an enchanted longsword made of specially treated steel. In addition to the typical enchantment given to the weapons of Mikel's Swords (namely, they begin glowing in the presence of the enemies of the gods), the steel is treated to make it resistant to high temperatures, which allows Marius to more easily enact his signature move of setting the blade afire.

Personal history
Marius was born into Clan Kyrun, a high-ranking clan in House Mekulet . From a young age, he was a talented duelist whose swordplay, fire channeling, and quick thinking on his feet rocketed both himself and his clan up the rankings. However, he was plagued by emptiness... the feeling that he was missing some deeper purpose in his life.
Then, Sir Gabriel passed through his family's lands. Teenaged Marius challenged the legendary knight to a duel and was well and truly trounced for the first time in years. Marius followed Sir Gabriel across the Empire to demand that the knight train him, and was introduced to the higher purpose of the Order of Mikel's Sword.
The rest, as they say, is history.

Intellectual Characteristics
Marius exhibits a carefree, bold personality, but has openly, laughingly admitted that he suppresses his more analytical side in public, so as to make his opponents underestimate him. In truth, Marius has a knack for analysis and strategic thinking. More than his combat ability or fire channeling, it is Marius' whip-quick ability to get the measure of his opponent and suss out their weaknesses that makes Marius a formidable fighter.
Morality & Philosophy
Marius is a vocal proponent of not berating a human for being human. While he seeks to follow the ways of Mikel, he recognizes failure in himself as a stepping stone toward improvement.
This is a philosophy he extends to others as well, and so is more the type to encourage than berate. This makes him among the most merciful of the Mikel's Swords, as he has been known to go easy on criminals who exhibit genuine repentance and desire to change.
That said, he is a hard-liner on certain crimes, exhibiting a disdain for anyone who causes unwarranted suffering or bloodshed (and often expresses his vocal dissatisfaction with his own Great House over the same). However, even when facing the worst of criminal monsters, Marius holds himself to an honor code that is a mix between Mikellian codes and those of a typical member of House Mekulet.

Marius cannot stand anyone who would intentionally hurt an innocent, especially children.

Vices & Personality flaws
Marius' most notable vice is his love of earthly pleasures. Unlike most of the rest of the Mikel's Swords, he drinks, curses, and generally carouses far more than a holy knight should. The Order expressly forbids sexual entanglements in particular, but it is suspected that he may be having an affair with fellow Sword Dame Sianna.
