Burgeis typically presents himself as someone who has no eyes to fool those who enter his cabin and to fill them with dread and fear, for his cabin is fueled by the fear his victims produce.
Special abilities
Though he has a spirit form that presents himself as an old, human male, the actual name, form, and appearance of Burgeis is unknown.
Usually, Burgeis shifts his form into a building that is the most relevent to where his location is in order to get the most victims possible. He can then use the victims souls as puppets in order to make the place of interest seem more alive.

Personal history
Though his personal history is mostly shrouded in mystery, the only oral story of his backstory is the one that Burgeis tells himself to his victims inside of his cabin.
The story goes: "Once upon a time, there was once a family that lived in a cabin in the woods. A father, a mother, and a daughter of whom the parents loved very much. The father was a hard working man, constantly going out into the unknown wilderness to hunt for food and gather fire wood to keep his family fed and warm. However, one evening when the mother had just cooked a nice hot dinner for the father to return to from his voyage, he did not come home the usual time that he would. And so, the mother went out onto the front porch, ringing a bell and calling out to her husband, 'There is food at home, dear husband! There is food at home! Get it before it gets cold!' And thus she called and called, and indeed the father finally came. However, he was different and he looked very pale. Something had happened to him. Indeed, the father did feast on a hot meal, yet it wasn't the dinner that was cooked. That all went to waste while the father consumed the daughter and the mother, for his hunger was far too great for any regular meal to suffice, that all tasted like ash to him. And thus the cabin was dubbed accursed."
The story of which he tells his victims is one that some might believe to be the truth of how the tavern was cursed, while others might think it is just a way for Burgeis to instill more fear. Perhaps we may never know the true story of what happened.

People who wandered into the decrepic and seemingly abandoned cabin in the middle of the snowy woods in seek of shelter usually ran into to a character named Burgeis... before figuring out that Burgeis was not the real enemy...
