Insulating Mesh

The earliest forms of insulating mesh were woven out of the undercoats of Basket Horns, and serve as the closest the Stenza ever came to undergarments. They were favored in winter under furs or other cloth garments, and often strongly resembled decæ of the time; in fact, they were distinguished only by their tight weaves and softer texture.   The advent of the Automated Mesh Weaving Machine allowed this garment to be manufactured to exactly fit a given individual body. This, coupled with technology built into the fabric, enhanced its insulation properties and allowed it to be removed either entirely or in pieces (the sleeves, for example, separate at the shoulders). However, it can still be punctured or torn.   This type of mesh is standard issue for Soldiers as an integral part to a set of Battle Armor, as a layer of protection against overheating. It is also used by Ship's Technicians and available at low or no cost to anyone wishing to visit an alien planet with possibly hostile atmospheric and climate conditions.
