Frederick Weiss served as a Private First Class in the United States Military, alongside Cornelius Kavanaugh, when he had the ill fortune to be selected as a target for the Stenza Leadership Challenge.

Personal history

Frederick Weiss served alongside Cornelius Kavanaugh in the Vietnam War when they were both in their early twenties and somewhat naive. He helped Cornelius back to the medical tent when the latter was injured (and subsequently his leg had to be amputated). It is unknown who pressed the button which summoned the Stenza warrior who ultimately pursued him. It is even unknown how long the warrior had been on Earth pursuing him. What is known is that ultimately the warrior found him on night patrol with Cornelius, and attempted to take him hostage. Weiss resisted, and Cornelius even fired upon the individual, although the bullets could not penetrate his captor's armor. Weiss was ultimately overpowered, despite his best efforts, and whisked off back to Strares with his alien captor. Before he could take in his new but noticeably cold surroundings, he was locked into a stasis chamber, where he remains to this day.
