490 A.R. Tutelary Sentinels War of Elven Extermination

A group of zealous human supremacists, calling themselves the Tutelary Sentinels, revealed themselves and waged a war against the elven countries that had long lived in harmony with the kingdom of mortalkind. This war, which would come to be known as the War of Elven Extermination, was prosecuted with weaponry far more advanced than any the world had ever seen. Airships and rifles, warforged automata and terrifying poisons all served to rain unimaginable horrors on all who would oppose the Sentinel’s goals of ‘defending Humanity’. The Sentinel forces were finally routed at the battle of Gungnir’s Rest, and their remaining forces have withdrawn into their few, far-flung, and well-defended fortresses. Fallen from a once-great power, the Sentinels are now little more than a thorn in the side of civilized mortalkind, or so it seems. *The Tutelary Sentinels launch the Elfslayer campaign. The Elf King now known as Princebane Drago betrays his own, kills his son, and casts his lot with the Sentinels. The Black Iron general widens the scope of their defensive crusade; the Halfling massacres and their forced relocation a mere footnote in the history of the Elfslayer wars. Less than 40 living elves exist on the continent.

The Immortal King is forced back into the prison by the combined efforts of the adventurers, Henjin, Trelos, and Kokusho, but not before the King speaks his will into law; “I demand one-tenth of all magic as my tithe.”, and reality compiled, an ocean of arcane and holy power sealed once again within the Temple Prison of the King. Kokusho is assassinated by Shadow. The following night lasted a season as Bael’Zharon mourned his son.
