Sessley Graham
3 December, 297 6c.
Esteemed Admiral Strong,
I would like to formally nominate officer Sessley Graham for commendation, and recognition of excellence by the Admiralty. I recognize that she has been in active service for only a short stretch of time, but I believe you will find my nomination is made with good reason. Since being stationed aboard the Hopewell, Officer Graham has done exceptional work in keeping the entire ship running like new. Our cannons have not misfired once, the ropes and pulleys are immaculate, and the hull is pristine. She is doubtlessly the greatest shipmaster I have ever seen in action, and that isn't factoring the work she does for the morale of the crew. I have seen her take on work unassigned to her without a complaint, and she helps in the galley whenever she notices she might be needed. Her work ethic is unquestionable and the results are undeniable. The ship is far better off with her aboard it, and I would see her efforts recognized and rewarded. It would be my pleasure to discuss this with you at your earliest convenience. May the winds treat you well.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Sessley is in good shape, though generally rather tired from overworking herself. She's strong for her size and has a good constitution. Usually covered in small burns and abrasions from working with tar and tools.
Facial Features
Thin, friendly face, usually bearing a smile. Round cheeks, straight nose, under-eye circles.
Identifying Characteristics
Has her mother's name (Jane) tattooed on her hip.
Physical quirks
Right handed. Generally seems a bit tense, but relaxes when she's around people she trusts. Walks briskly.
Apparel & Accessories
Sessley saves her Defense Force uniform for special occasions, as if she wore it every day it would be mostly grease stained. As such she normally wears a loose tunic tucked into belted trousers, high boots, and a vest or work overalls. Keeps a gunner's knife with her at all times, sometimes bears a sword. Rarely keeps firearms on her.
Specialized Equipment
Her belt is covered in pouches that contain all manner of tools and materials, as well as whatever small device she's currently tinkering with. She is by no means a combat specialist, but her knife/sword work is efficient.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Sessley was born in Nabor City, the capital of Naboren, to a single mother. Her childhood was difficult, but through it she learned perseverance and compassion, not to mention a good deal of street smarts. She was especially drawn to tinkering, and made sure that her small home was kept in tip-top shape. At age 12 she found work at the dockyards, helping with ship repairs and maintenance. Sessley worked diligently for years, eventually saving up enough money to move herself and her mother away to Fharyn in the pursuit of a better life. They settled outside of Bransindal, and Sessley was overwhelmed with the new culture and plethora of opportunities in front of her. She once again began working at a dockyard, this time one belonging to the Fharyne Navy. A chance encounter with Captain Grey Ukazu resulted in her enrolling in the Defense Force Training Program, and eventually stationed aboard the newly minted vessel Hopewell. She is now the shipmaster and galley assistant, and serves dutifully under Captain Jeremy Wilson.
Gender Identity
Female
Education
Sessley did not receive very much formal education, and as such she is only functionally literate. Her skills were augmented by her time in the Defense Force Training Program, but her strength is still primarily based in her wisdom and her character.
Morality & Philosophy
Believes strongly in the value of hard work without shortcuts.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Sessley wants to support and protect the people she cares about: namely her mother and her crew. She also wants to make a name for herself, as she spent much of her early life fearing that no one knew about her or would care if she was gone. She is shockingly ambivalent about the Hopewell's actual mission of subduing the pirate menace -- it's rather easy for her to sympathize with the scoundrels.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Excellent at all manner of repairs, from cannons to clothing, and is extremely emotionally intelligent. Really bad at math and learning languages.
Virtues & Personality perks
Fiercely protective, perceptive of situations and people.
Vices & Personality flaws
Prone to self neglect and withdrawing from others.
Personality Quirks
Sessley can eat an incredible amount almost effortlessly, and never wastes any food.

Sessley is a comforting presence for those who know her well. Around others, she can be a bit quiet and withdrawn. Her self confidence is pretty unshakable. She had no schooling on etiquette, and as such it leaves much to be desired.

Likes to be close to people when speaking. Often sits on the floor or on objects other than chairs.
