Grandma Bess
Description
Bess looks less like a person and more like a pile of colorful knitted shawls with a nose poking out. She is a tiny, round woman with thick spectacles that magnify her eyes to unnerving sizes. Her hands are never still; she is constantly knitting nets, blankets, or scarves with a rhythmic click-clack that sounds like a clock ticking.Underneath her chair (or sometimes hidden in her knitting bag) is a large, leather-bound ledger known as The Black Book of Business.
Personality & Mannerisms
Bess plays the role of the "sweet grandmother" perfectly, calling everyone "sugar," "honey," or "dumpling." However, she is the sharpest intellectual weapon in Thistlewick. She remembers every debt, every family secret, and every lie told in the hamlet for the last forty years.
