Origins: The Lost Crossing

The Eladrin are not native to Mornvahl, or Cruinlagh. They are lost.

  • The Seeping: Centuries ago, a "thin place" between the Feywild and Cruinlagh opened. A group of Eladrin crept across, perhaps out of curiosity, perhaps chasing a quarry. When they tried to turn back, the door was shut.

  • The Stagnation: In the Feywild, an Eladrin’s spirit shifts with the environment. But the heavy, static magic of the Material Plane "froze" them. Upon being born in Cruinlagh, an Eladrin child is "locked" into the season of their birth. They are Fey spirits trapped in a static cage.

  • The Grey World: They refer to Cruinlagh as "The Grey World" or "The Stillness." To them, this world feels dead, muted, and agonizingly slow.

Cultural Values: The Four Temperaments

Eladrin culture is divided into four distinct sub-cultures based on their birth season. Your season is your appearance, your moral compass, and your personality.

  • Spring (The Sprout): Born in the thaw.
    • Values: Novelty, Impulse, Growth.
    • Personality: They have zero attention span but infinite energy. They are incapable of holding grudges because they genuinely forget yesterday happened. To them, every sunrise is the first sunrise.

  • Summer (The Blaze): Born in the heat.
    • Values: Action, Confrontation, Passion.
    • Personality: They do not understand "nuance" or "waiting." If they love you, they burn for you. If they hate you, they strike you. They find bureaucracy physically painful.

  • Autumn (The Harvest): Born in the fall.
    • Values: Community, Empathy, Sacrifice.
    • Personality: They are the ultimate hosts and caregivers, but they carry a deep, existential melancholy. They understand that everything ends. They are the peacemakers who give everything away until they have nothing left.

  • Winter (The Frost): Born in the chill.
    • Values: Preservation, Logic, Memory.
    • Vibe: They are not cruel; they are efficient. Winter preserves meat; it freezes rot. Winter Eladrin are the archivists and strategists who make the hard choices to ensure survival. They do not cry, because tears freeze.

The Experience:
Eladrin are immigrants. Theur customs, food, clothing, may feel starkly contrasting to the tradition culture of a human on Cruinlagh.

Emotional Intensity:
Eladrin feel emotions at a volume that hurts Humans. A Human feels "sad"; an Autumn Eladrin feels "The weight of every falling leaf." They are often viewed as "drama queens" or "unstable" by other races, but this is simply their baseline reality.
