Etta Vance
Description
Etta looks like she grew out of the swamp. She is a hunched, stillness of a woman draped in grey-green rags that match the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. She sits motionless in her small boat for hours, tending to "trotlines" (long fishing lines with multiple hooks) strung between cypress knees. She smells of stagnant water and wet wool. Her boat is decorated with small animal skulls and hanging bundles of drying herbs.
Personality & Mannerisms
Etta is the most superstitious of the Slickers. She believes the fish have a society of their own and that she must ask permission before catching them. She speaks in a whispery, raspy voice.
