Ventos et sequentes fructus.— Company motto
The Honourable Dawn Coast Company, initialized as "HDCC", usually colloquially shortened to the "Dawn Coast Company", or simply "The Company", is an Imperial joint stock company created for the trading and transportation of valuable goods between the Old Lands and the Imperial colonies on
The Dawn Coast. The Company is officially headquartered on Bowler's Brooke Street in Lindan, the Imperial capitol, however most of the Company's operations are conducted from
Port Heron.
The Company maintains a number of its own settlements and outposts on the Dawn Coast, most notably at Port Heron where the Company's Provincial Offices are located. Although nominally bound to Imperial rule, the Company has become its own de facto government in control of parts of the Dawn Coast. It maintains its own private military in the Dawn Coast which includes a small standing army and several naval squadrons, ostensibly to protect its assets and investments from pirates such as those operating out of
New South Lindan, and to hunt down smuggler gangs such as the
Dusk Runners.
History
These new lands, the so called Morning Shores, are rich with an unprecedented natural wealth. A wealth that no other venture has yet proposed to tap into.— Pete Cuttings, letter to Lord Ynn-Greves
Heraldry and Livery
The Honourable Dawn Coast Company is granted its own coat of arms, and the right to choose its own colours for its flags, ensigns, and liveries.
The standard livery of the Company is Azure and Gules, sometimes trimmed with or accented by Argent. Soldiers in the Company's employ wear Azure uniforms, and their officers wear uniforms quartered in Azure and Gules.
The originally issued coat of arms was parted per chevron Azure and Erminois, and the original Company flag and ensign featured a canton Erminois. Erminois is the Imperial tincture and when charged with the wolf rampant Argent it is the symbol of the reigning House Harcaester. The removal of Erminois on the Company's colours, coinciding with a significant increase in the Company's naval strength, was a very controversial move that almost resulted in treason charges for several of the Company's directors. On the coat of arms Erminois was replaced by Azure, and on the flag and ensign Erminois was replaced by Argent charged with a roundel Gules.
Although the traditional colour for the sun in Imperial heraldry is Or, the Company has instead chosen Gules to represent the noticeably redder hued
Eos. A smaller roundel in Argent overlapping Eos is a recent addition, representing the discovery of
Sulis.
Executive Council
Honourable Members of the Board
The Honourable Dawn Coast Company is headed by a council of fifteen executive directors, who call themselves the Honourable Members of the Board. The exact number of directors has varied over the Company's history, ranging from as few as four at its founding, to as many as seventeen at the council's greatest size.
Most of the Company's directors reside in the Old Lands and have never even been to the Dawn Coast, however five of the Company's directors have taken up permanent residence in or around Port Heron.

The President of the Board's term is indefinite, ending only if the President dies in office, chooses to step down, or is impeached by a supermajority vote by the Council.
Current President
The Presidency is currently held by
Lady Eos Harcaester, the daughter of Ptincess Alexa Harcaester, the Duchess of the Morning Shores. The appointment of Lady Eos was a move that was met by controversy within the Council, as not only does her appointment create an official link to the Imperial Family, the Lady Eos is still a six month old infant. The Council has since appointed Lord Albens as Caretaker General, who is Company President in all but name.
