The Sons
They trace their holy lineage back to the "Sons of Thunder" from the 2 of the 5 Apostles of Atsila, son of the Creator God Unole. They are bigger than mere denominational concerns, fashions, and wanton desires of pet theologies; they are those who have been tasked with the holy mandate (allegedly) by the 5 Apostles to snuff out the Tainted that walk the Earth.
The scouring elite that track down and eliminate the profane and unholy are called "Sons". They are a secret society that exists in the shadow of all Atsilian traditions, an elite secret society, fierce and formidable. The Sons answer to "He, The Hallowed" ... and no one knows exactly who or what that might be.
Tainted, demons, Spooks and Spectres ... hell, even the Fae stay clear of the Sons.
They are protectors of mortals, being mortals themselves, and rarely deviate once they have been given a holy sign of inquisition. What the "holy sign" is or how it arrives is unknown.
The Sons are not without their spots and stains, however holy and ancient their origins may claim. Greed, lust for power, personal gains, and spite run in their veins like hellfire in the heart of the Tainted.
