Yuan-Ti Rebels
Long ago before the Apocalyptic events of the Divine War and the Scarring there were a snake-like people called the Yuan-Ti living in the jungles of the lands now known as Olmerrec. They were created by the magic of a sinister demi-God by the name of Zehir, also known as the Tyrant Serpent or the Venomed Lord, mutating ordinary humanoid creatures. He established a priesthood to control his mutated people and ruled over them with fear and terror.
After centuries of terror there was a faction of rebels that wanted nothing more than to escape and overthrow their God who walked amongst them in the flesh. Eventually they managed to flee the city and made a long trek through the jungles to the south being pursued by the warriors of the Zehir.
The Rebels managed to reach a mountain with an elaborate cave system and far enough away from the city of serpents. They Settled on the island of Lor and found that they could hide from their God here deep in the mountain.
They forsook the use of magic and started focusing on learning about machinery and science. After a few generations of studying and expanding deep into the mountains they discovered many wonders of technology. Their greatest achievement was the creation of the Necromech, a fresh corpse built into a robotic suit that could be used as a worker or a warmachine.
Learning about the Illium Magocracy and how they managed to sever the Threads of Fate they contacted them and started making plans for building great containment devices that could capture and harness the power of the demi-Gods. After supplying the mages with the containment devices to capture the Lich and the Crawling King the time finally came to capture their God. They supplied them with another containment device and in return they helped them improve their Necromechs with magical runes.
However after Zehir was captured the Mages betrayed them and turned the newly upgraded Necromechs on the Rebels killing all or almost all of them in the process.
