Souls Campaign Session 3 Report
General Summary
Session 3: 12-04-2025
Waking up from a comfortable rest after spending the night in the cave with the warm Fey flowers, the party decides to strike-out and head towards Frost Harbor to find answers. They stride onto the frozen tundra and soon it starts to snow and before long it turns into a violent blizzard freezing and slowing them down. Chiki and Ghost notice a howl through the roar of the blizzard. Pushing on Ozzy get chilled by the freezing tempratures and slows down a little.
Chiki, Ozzy and Ghost share information and find out that Yeti's hunt in the snow storm for prey blinded and frozen. Ghost scouts ahead to keep a look out for the beasts but finds none until a large claw swipes at him fron the snow. Three of the creatures jump up from under the snow and attack. Throwing fire on them they burn one and it flees while the others quickly dealt with by the party.
They take some time to butcher the creatures and take meat, claws, horns and teeth as well skinning them for their hides. Finally the blizzard dies down and they rest planning to arrive at town at night.
Chiki helps Ozzy disguise himself to enter the town inconspicuously as an old man selling exotic meats. They see that a small tent camp with fires burning and strange man in long leather coats with coned hats standing guard has been setup near The gates. He confronts him and asks questions but was fooled by his disguise. He hears that the order of the Witchhunter have been called to find their party because the Chieftain has framed them for the attack accusing them of enchanting the townsfolk to aggression. They offer him a place in a tent reserved for travelers waiting for curfew to be over to enter the town.
Inside the tent he meets with a nice old lady by the name of Macie and he offers her some of the Jabberwock meat. She puts it in the stew and tells him that the town is closed for the night and they have to wait. They have a long chat about the correct way of disciplining young children and Ozzy goes to sleep.
He wakes up and notices that one of his pouches containing 15 gold is missing and probably during the night a thief has taken it. Macie asks him to escort an old lady inside and she tells the guard he's a good sort and they get let inside without issue. She waves goodbye while he listens to a Witchhunter address the townsfolk about the party and their supposed treachery. Also tells them that Clan Drenner has allied itself with The Empire of Mori in their war with the Kingdom of Therassia and they've called all able-bodied people to volunteer. He sees a zeppelin with the symbol of the Witchhunters docked on the upper tower of the stronghold.
He needs to let the others out in a secure location so he heads off to the Drunken Troll Tavern and meets the innkeep Serge The Once-Scarred who happens to be the grandchild of Macie the Yeti Slayer who slayed 12 Yeti wielding only a rod. Selling the Yeti meat to him and taking a room they all pile out and rest until night while planning on how to infiltrate the stronghold.
During the wait Ghost makes posters with a political cartoon showing Chieftain Taddak Drenner firing lightning bolts out of his hands taunting the Witchhunters. They give these to some urchins who under the threat of Grandma Macie will hang them in prominent places.
They find a quiet place near the base of the wall and reduce the size of Chiki's shell. Saruske takes it and starts scaling one of the corner towers of the wall. He jumps over and using his spider climb abilities he scales the wall with ease dodging windows and lighted areas to avoid detection. Landing softly inside the tower he encounters a guard who is fast asleep guarding the door to the zeppelin. Ghost comes out of the shield and they both open the trapdoor to the floor below and sneak down to the hall they met the Chieftain.
Finding the door locked Chost uses his magic to teleport them inside. Finding the hall empty and unlit they sneak forward to the throne and find a locked chest and a desk filled with papers. Ghost picks up the maps and hands it off to Ozzy and Chiki in the shell to copy. Picking the top drawer reveals more letters and a bag of gold filled with a 100 gp. The lower drawer is trapped and a big fireball burns them both and destroys the desk.
The alarm is sounded and the party dashes out of the window they escaped from before. Running as hard as they can they reach the western wall and climb over extinguishing torches to keep hidden. Jumping down landing in soft snow Saruske runs as far as he can before letting out Ozzy who transforms himself into a riding horse and runs almost all the way to the cave.
After a short trek they reach the cave and head inside but find that the corpse of the Jabberwock has disappeared. They set themselves down to rest and discuss what to do next.

Notes
- A map of the Summerlands with the notations on the possible leads on the Fey portal. A question mark has been placed next to the Uth Outpost.
- A letter from someone named Anggar Many-Scars asking for help with some strange creatures that lurk around town and even one that has been masquerading as townspeople.
- Letters addressing councilman Harm Frederiker informing them the chieftains son Thaddus Drenner has been sent with a unit of Witchhunters to establish a mission promoting their views on magic and spread their influence in the Empire. Another letter is addressed to Townmaster Hallowbinder of the town of Brightwater on the coast of Olmerrec discussing a trading post and a permanent presence of the Witchhunters. He has sent his son Bael Drenner to this town to further his interests.
- Chiki masterfully puzzles the pieces together of the remains of the burned documents. They learn that the chieftain has been searching for the remains of his God and has some indication that the Blasted Plains holds one of the pieces he searches for. Another document are notes on his greatest creation: his bodyguard Moeri Snowborn, an orphan turned into a powerful undead and improved with the finest Gnomish machinery. A mechanical heart circulating its stale rotten blood gives this monster some form of "life".
