Souls Campaign Session 2

Session 2: 27-03-2025

We start at the mouth of the cavern where the rest of the party waits until Saruske and Ghost finish their reconnaissance of the interior. The two sneak in and see a strange tracks of something large and snake like being dragged through the snow and ice of the floor. Upon closer inspection there are some indentations of large claws. Ghost using his owl and sending it through the winding tunnel at the back reveals a warm chamber with a purplish glow filled with flowers. It hears an odd burbling noise coming from a large creature in the chamber.

The party regroups and discusses the best course of action. Chiki knows this is a Fey creature, a Jabberwock, a huge dragonlike creature that looks like a worm on 4 legs with wings.

The party charges in and battles the creature. Striking it first with blades and spells with Ozzy managing to summon roots that restrain it to the ground. It seems to just make it more angry and it releases a line of cold energy from its eyes striking the party. Ghost hits it hard with strikes from his magical sword with Saruske striking it in its eyes with his monkey monk fists.

Eventually it goes down but they notice that it keeps healing from its wounds but Chiki remembers that creatures like these need to be beheaded for them to truly die so Ghost quickly draws his sword and severs it's head while Saruske jumps on its corpse in victory. Ozzy removes teeth, an eye and butchers its meat to replenish their supplies.

Investigating the cave they find a burlap sack with a flyer of the Witchlight Carnival seemingly addressed to someone name Skabatha. There are also a pair of magical black slippers in the bag.

Resting in the warmth of the cave they sleep comfortably and make plans to return to Frost Harbor to find out more about the apparently undead Chieftain.
