Nightblood
[Neutral][Artifact]longsword, versatile, sap
- Attack bonus +5
- 1d8 (1d10) +5 Force damage
- A black bladed sword that seems to drink in the light. It weighs almost nothing and has strange abilities. Once drawn it starts feeding on its wielders life force.
Pure Force Blade. The sword counts as a +5 weapon. Instead of dealing Slashing damage it deals Force damage that ignores all resistances and immunity. It doesn't count as a Magic or Tech weapon.
Soul drinker. Once drawn from it's sheath it starts drinking power from it's wielder. If the wielder is a spellcaster it devours the highest level spell slot (or the cost of an equivalent magical ability) to feed itself and deals an additional 2d8 Necrotic damage to the target. If not a spellcaster or the wielder is out of spell slots it deals 4d8 Necrotic damage at the end of the creatures turn but if they hit a target with Nightblood they only take 2d8 Necrotic damage and the target takes the additional 2d8 Necrotic damage. If the wielder is reduced to 0 hit points or lower when holding Nightblood on their next turn instead of making Death Saving Throws their soul is completely consumed by the sword and they can no longer be raised from the dead except for a Resurrection or Wish spell.
Long Shadow Blade. The sword has a reach of 15ft as its shadowy blade stretches hungrily towards the life force of the targeted creature.
Destroy Evil! The sword is sentient and has a Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma score of 10 and can perceive things up to 30ft. It speaks to the wielder out loud and everyone can hear it speak. It was created with only one command: "Destroy Evil." and it will urge the wielder to find Evil creatures to kill. Upon grasping the hilt and drawing it from its sheath a creature attunes to it and becomes proficient with this weapon.
Shadow Step. As a Bonus Action the wielder can teleport 30ft once per round. They do not trigger opportunity attacks when using this teleport and can make a Stealth check to become hidden.
Darkness Itself. The wielder of the sword can cast the spell Darkness at will and they gain Devil's Sight, the ability to see through magical Darkness.
Aluminium Scabbard. In order to stop its soul drinking ability you must spend an Action to sheath the blade. If discarded or lost dropped it will continue to do damage to its wielder until another creature picks it up.
