Morianderism

The main religion of Morea is the worship of the twin Primal Forces, Kossoth and Zerith.

The prophet Mori discovered these forces after a deep meditation of 100 days that left him near dead. He communed with the forces and managed to discover a way to power Divine spells.

The religion is considered:
  1. Dualistic
  2. Universal
  3. Non-interventionist
  4. Non moral theology
  5. Transmigratory (reincarnation)

The Primal Forces are worshipped by the people and are not considered to be actual beings. Although they're associated with certain emotions and aspects of life but not something philosophical like good and evil as they're used to on other worlds. Both in terms of alignment are considered neutral, they're not assigned gender and use the neutral pronoun of they/them.
However in some obscure cults they are worshipped as the Mother and Father of the world.

Both are seen as having had an equal hand in creating the universe in the creation of the True Flame in the center of all creation. Fire is believed to be a thing of both creation and destruction as it's able to be used for creating or destroying. They're also responsible for the cycle of rebirth.

After the events of the Scarring it is believed that the Gods themselves pulled on the forces of Destruction to destroy themselves completely.

There is no pantheon but the Gods have 3 major aspects and many minor aspects.
Zerith, The Primal Force of the Beginnning, has the major aspects of creation, life and growth.
Some of their most common minor aspects are:

  • Farming
  • Birth
  • Construction
  • Vengeance
  • The Clans

Kossoth, The Primal Force of the End, has the major aspects of death, destruction and decay.
Some of their most common minor aspects are:
  • War
  • Sickness
  • Medicine
  • Justice
  • The Empire

There is however no censensus on what Force rules over which minor aspects. For example, healing is considered a part of the worship of Zerith and some other places it would be attributed to Kossoth. Clerics often debate endlessly about the aspects of the Primal Forces and sects are born that have different views. Only the Empire of Mori has codified and strictly enforces the official list of divine aspects in what is called the Codex of Divine Right, or simply The Codex.

Typically the worship of one of the Primal Forces is assuming a Path (Domain). A Path is your calling in life and is associated with one of the minor aspects of the Primal Force. A cleric will often try to find and nurture his Path in his followers and seek out a Paragon who exemplifies his chosen Path.
