Frontier Session 5 Report

Session 5: 11-08-2024

We start at night after the night that Siucu and Jock have gone on their infiltration missions. Siucu studies the documents and learns that the Council of Clans has sent letters to the Council of Brightwater to inform them they want to install a governor. They want a list of the council members, backgrounds and their staff members to pick a suitable candidate.

Meanwhile the party hears a ruckus outside and they hear what sounds like a brawl coming from the tavern on the waterfront. Siucu transforms into a raven and takes Jock on his back to investigate. The others follow behind at walking speed. They discover that two groups of sailors are fighting each other over some dispute of who rules the oceans around here. The two factions are the black uniformed Imperial Navy and the Royal Navy wearing blue sashes. Nobody gets seriously injured and Jock joins the brawl as well and even manages to knock out an Orc bouncer. They leave before the guards notices them.

Jock and Hiron get into a small confrontation when he gets back into the room. After exchanges some blows Hiron accepts him as a Neutral creature and stands down.

The party decides to go investigate the Fisher plantation/homestead the next morning. They go to Ella Prevost in the Peg legged Wench tavern to inquire about the location of the Fisher plantation. She gives them the location and estimate it's only a couple of hours walking so they leave the horses and go. They do see a Griffon at the stables before they leave.

Arriving at the plantation Siucu flies overhead to inspect the fields and finds a small patch of Devil's Flower in the back and a trail leading away to another plantation. This one has a large field of Devil's Flower hidden behind fields of corn, wheat and barley. He flies back to the others and they decide to talk to the people inside the homestead. They meet Lucas Fisher, husband of Lavender, and manage to get some bananas from him. Hiron cuts off a whole branch and there's an incident with some guards but Jock manages to intimidate them.

Heading back to the town they find a Griffon outside at the stables and meet a Griffon Rider Knight by the name of Thuridan of House Feawynn. He tells the party he is not involved with the Royal Navy sailors in town but is looking for an escaped murderer Orc Brakk The Broad. He asks the party to find him in town and if they bring information of his location he'll pay them 300gp.

Going into town the party goes to Lavender Fisher to confront her about the Devil's Flower plantation. She explains she only grows some for her own use and that of some select clientele. Explaining that the plantation north of hers belongs to fellow council member Madgaf Nosk and he's probably smuggling it into town with his supplies for the brewery and distillery. She asks the party to investigate the brewery and the Peg legged Wench tavern for a reward of 750gp.

The party asks her to provide them with forged documents to give to the Townmaster to give him fake information on Lavender and to give to the Imperial messenger waiting outside of town. They go to the messenger with the forged documents and he takes off in his flying machine. Afterwards they settle their business with the Townmaster and receive 550gp as a reward.

They go to investigate the tavern first and Jock talks to the Orc bouncers about the Orc fugitive and they explain that he's in the cellar with the barrels of Devil's Flower that Ella Prevost is helping smuggle out of town.
