Frontier Session 33

Session 33: 30-11-2025

The party stands in the Core with the magical circles. Hiron and Suicu see that the bodies in the circles are pristine without any marks on them as if they died without a fight or affliction. The crystals covering the walls are pure magic and Jock and Suicu are able to recharge their powers with them.

They notice a strange pull towards the green circle which starts becoming more intense. Eventually they get sucked into the circle and find themselves in ankle high water while Jock senses a presence floating above them. Suddenly a large Earth Elemental bursts out of the water and attacks Jock. A flying figure appears who seems like a living version of the body on the green circle, a human woman with green robes.

Fighting an intense magical battle where Jock manages to jump onto the Archmage and grapples her but she teleports away. Suicu launches into magical strikes destroying the elemental and the archmage... After slashing her in two she turns into motes of light and soon the entire cavern starts to dissolve into light.

They find themselves floating in darkness and see glowing tendrils of purple light. Copies of themselves are racing along these tendrils of light, different versions in space and time.

Eventually they reappear at the green circle and the body is no longer to be seen. Only a Wand of Stone Shape is left behind.

The yellow circle opens and they are greeted by a cozy room with wooden floors and a low table with sitting pillows. Inside is the yellow robed archmage alive and well sitting and waiting with tea and buns.

She answers their questions about what happened to the Gods, the Great Engine and the Archmages.

• The ritual took place in the year 2072. It appears she uses a different calendar than the Standard Calendar.
• Numerius the Black opposed the ritual and refused to take part. The risk was too great and unnatural.
• Alexandr the Red compromised and agreed with Maximillian that he would share the power with the people.
• Maximillian wanted all the power for the Council of Archmagi but in the end betrayed them all trying to take it for himself.
• The power is gathered at the core and maintains the God Cages (the machines trapping the Demi-Gods). If the cages or gods are destroyed it will weaken the Great Engine and eventually release them.
• The options are:
  • Destroy the cage or god inside releasing their power to the Aether.
  • Connect to the God inside and claim their power for yourself.
  • Leave them and repair the wards to imprison them.
