Frontier Session 29 Report

Session 29: 11-08-2025

The party starts after they finished looting and harvesting the Yuan-Ti dead. They retreat to the top of the pyramid to have a short rest, bandaging wounds and planning their next move.   Hiron starts scanning the surrounding area and sees groups of reptiles and Yuan-Ti creep closer to the pyramid. He alerts the others and Suicu decides to confront them and speak to their leader. An armored Yuan-Ti approaches and tells them they will overwhelm them if they don't leave. Explaining that they believe that the sacrifices are necessary or the sun won't rise anymore. They need the children to turn them into new pure-blooded Yuan-Ti.   She comes up to the top and meets with the others. Her name is Seras and is a knight in service of Zehir. They can't agree to let them keep kidnapping the civilians and turning the kids into Yuan-Ti. Jock suggests that they make peace and provide them with cows for sacrifice. They seem to agree to this but can't move on the other points. She suggest to go down to meet with the God and his High Priest to resolve this.   They go down into the pyramid and see an altar for sacrifices in the top chamber stained with dried up blood. Going down into the pyramid they notice it is an ancient structure and in disrepair in places. Eventually they move into a more natural cave as they go underground. The tunnel opens up into a large chamber with pipes running along the walls and across the ceiling to converge in a rectangular structure made from copper and brass with a console attached.   As they move towards the structure in the center they are confronted by a cobra headed Yuan-Ti in robes. He explains that they need the sacrifices to weaken Zehir's prison and set him free. Using some of the essence of the sacrifices he makes a small breach in the prison to allow Zehir's astral projection through.   They speak with Zehir about the sacrifices and they learn that five Demi-Gods have been captured by the mages of Illium . One was killed, another escaped and three are imprisoned.
They managed to cut off the Gods from this world and were trying to ascend as Gods themselves. A group of Archmages set out to the Crystal Palace in the south to perform a ritual to claim Godhood instead they unleashed destruction on the world.
If he were to be released he would no longer need the sacrifices and could transform humanoids into Yuan-Ti at will but will only do so for willing creatures. Opening trade and support between their peoples. He will summon one of the Inevitables, from the plane of Mechanus, to witness his Divine Oath to bind him to it. They make a truce for now and the sacrifices will stop for a month.   They summon the Ravager to pick them up. Moving back to the plantation and informing Lavender by radio what happened with the Yuan-Ti.   Resting up and making ready to travel across the wasteland to the Crystal Palace to find out more about the capture of the Gods and what these Archmages were doing.
