Frontier Session 16 Report

Session 16: 26-01-2025

The party wakes up on the ship after having explored the town the day before. Suicu takes off and explores the town inspecting the floating rock they left in the center of the town. Now floating right next to the soldier's encampment he notices that they seem to ignore it.

They decide to take off and find the rebels in the jungle by going to the supply drop off point. In bird form Suicu takes Jock and flies out of town while the others go through The gates onto the road through the jungles to the west. Glee stops to inspect the black Warsuit and finds out a few details on its construction but is told to leave by the soldiers.

Once outside on the road the party marches almost a full day when Glee notices someone off in the bushes spying on them. He confronts the creature but gets no reply so Jock descends into the bushes and hears a strange voice say "Are they Evil? Lets destroy them!". Jock finds this person and taunts them causing them to draw their black shadowy blade while throwing their cloak back revealing a green yellowish scaly skinned woman with a forked tongue and orange slightly glowing eyes.

Jock is struck by the blade and feels his life force getting drained as it passes through him. He grapples with the creature but she paralyses him with magic while more lizard creatures join the fight and attack Glee. Suicu transforms back and blasts two of them with his lightning magic and finishes them off with shurikens. As they notice that the strange sword seems to be talking and possesses strange abilities Glee cuts off the hand of the Yuan-Ti woman and knocks her out.

Jock curious picks up the black sword and pain wracks him as it starts feeding on his lifeforce. Hiron and Kirre catch with the party and rushes to Jock. Glee manages to get the sword back in its scabbard but not before Jock passes out. Hiron heals him up and he comes back to consciousness.

After the battle they decide to keep her alive and tie her up. Hiron hears the creature speak and recognises this as Slitherspeech which he learned from the ancient database in the Thri-Kreen volcano. She tells them she is here to kill the invaders to her land and on hearing the name Zehir she praises his name in reference. They try to get directions to the City of Serpents but their attempts fail.

Kirre identifies the strange black blade as Nightblood, a sentient sword with immense power given the command 'Destroy Evil' which it tries to do and asks its wielders.

Because it was getting dark the party decides to call it a day and make camp. They tie up the Yuan-ti but Suicu notices that she tries to escape and stops her. In the morning they put her in a Zone of Truth but she manages to resist the spell. She tries one last desperate attempt to escape but her magic fails her because of the technological interference of Glee. They draw weapons and dispatch her quickly.

They make it to the supply drop off point but can't find any tracks. They decide to make camp and wait for someone to come.
