Preservation Initiative

This group is dedicated to learning how to live with monsters to ensure the survival of humanity. They believe monsters and here to stay and are a part of the cycle of nature now: the only way to survive and build a future is to learn everything about the species and cohabit with them.

The Preservation Initiative (PI) is a faction dedicated to ensuring the survival of humanity by learning to coexist with monsters. They believe that monsters are an inextricable part of the natural cycle, and eradicating them is neither feasible nor desirable. Instead, the Initiative seeks to understand monsters deeply, studying their behaviors, patterns, and biology to find ways to harmonize human life with their presence.

Their core philosophy is rooted in the belief that survival comes not through domination or fear, but through knowledge, adaptability, and respect for the natural order. They advocate for minimal interference with monsters and focus on gathering data from a safe and hidden distance.

PI uses all of the information gathered to determine where the monster is, where it is heading, what it may be wanting in order to avoid being sensed/seen and continue studying it in its natural habitat. They gather information to answer questions suck as where to do sleep, how do they reproduce, what do they eat, how often do they eat, how can you tell the level of hostility, and the biggest one of all: if the monster is capable of being lived near peacefully at all.

Rationale:

  • Monsters are an immutable force in the world and are now a part of nature’s cycle. Attempting to eradicate or control them could lead to ecological collapse or worse. Humanity must evolve to understand and adapt to their existence.
  • By observing and studying monsters in their natural habitats, humanity can learn critical insights to ensure safety while exploring avenues for peaceful coexistence.

Structure

Structure and Roles

While PI emphasizes adaptability, its structure is built around clear roles to maximize efficiency:

  • Observers:
  • Field researchers who gather data directly from monster habitats.
  • Uniforms include dark, camouflaging gear with green and brown tones for stealth.
  • Analysts:
  • Stationed in laboratories or mobile research hubs, they process and synthesize data.
  • Wear primarily green and black attire, with patches denoting their specialty.
  • Artificer:
