Magic Augmenter Apparatus

The Magic Augmenter Apparatus is a tool originally used by the Hobgoblin Group that was occupying the Karthanian Ruins.   Magic Augmenter Apparatus is a silver and gold wand, with a glassy bulb on one end, and a forked tip that resembles a tuning fork.   The bulb can hold magical energy and store it for an unknown amount of time. Once it has stored an appropriate amount of energy, the magic user attuned to it gains access to both passive benefits and active powers. Passive abilities work so long as the apparatus retains power. Active abilities drains the apparatus of power, and once the energy is gone it must be recharged to be used again.    Passive:
  • The Holder gains +1 to all saves against any spells that target or affect the wielder.
  • This item can be used as an arcane focus.
  • The attuned can imbue the device with a spell up to Level 3. The spell stored in this Apparatus functions in the same way when casted. Spells that require spell components that are consumed still require the component and still consumes the component. If the apparatus loses power then the spell becomes inert until it regains power.
  Needs Active Use. Using these abilities uses a full reaction unless otherwise specified:   (Minus 2 Energy) When casting a spell, can maximize the damage casted on a spell. This must be chosen before the spell is determined to hit, or if the targets made or failed their saves.   (Minus 1 Energy) When casting a spell that does an energy type, the caster can target an ally they can see within 10 ft. This ally, for their next turn, gains additional damage dice (1d8) of whatever that spell's damage type is. This damage dice goes away at the end of the ally's turn. For example: Casting Lightning Bolt can give an ally 1d8 additional lightning damage to a sword attack.   (Minus 3 Energy per Spell Level, no minus for Cantrips) Once per day, the user can change the elemental makeup of a spell. Doing so either changes the element effected (light, dark, fire, earth, wind, water) or changes the damage type. This cannot effect things that are mixed types (mud, ash, snow, steam, dust, sand, lava, glass, wood, etc.)
