The Elven-State of Elvenia/Teurhoemo

The Room is not a world of pleasantries and frivolous excess, and few there are that have more than what is on their backs. However, the wild and extravagant state of Elvenia ( or known as Teurhoemo by the elven themselves), is a startlng change of color and culture compared to the grim world of Moorod. Due to their powerful abilities with magic and their large monstrous labor force, the nobles and snobbish leaders of the Elvenia live in comfort and luxury, and display extravagance in the face of such a bleak realm.   But in the lower levels, that few know of, and fewer go to, reside legions of twisted creatures that serve their lords' endless appetite, and yet their allies in Nephinal turn a blind eye to this fact, as the skills of elven mages are vital to remaining Nephinal protected from Mig. And now as another war comes, the Nephinal are bolstering their alliance with the realm of Teurhoemo, but dark secrets and hidden angers within the elven state may bring it to its knees.

Structure

The nation of Teurhoemo is governed by a high council of aged elven, called the Winernesi They set out into motion the laws and systems that govern society. Above this aged council is the Leredae, the grand ruler of Elvenia. A leredae is elected upon the death of the former, and several powerful elven come together to choose the next ruler based on popularity. Each leredae is unique, with most being young and arrogant rulers who know little about ruling, and have power only in name, compared to the Winernesi who wield the true authority. However, there have been some leredae who are the real power behind Elvenia, and the control the Winernesi like puppets.   Below these major powers, the rest of Teurhoemo is governed by the satraps. A satraps wields differing levels of authority, depending on what they are in charge of, be it a section of the nation, or a specific aspect of Elvenia (i.e. the Satrap of Cloth Development), and so on.

Public Agenda

The simple agenda of the high nobles of Teurhoemo is to keep themselves in power, but most are brattish and seek to keep themselves entertained, ignorant of the unbearable suffering of those of the lower classes.

Assets

While Elvenia is not rich in plentiful resources such as food or metals and materials, it does have it's own unique advangage, that being large amounts of magite, and knowledge, along with their increadible skill with magic. Their mages and floating defenses offer them a relative amount of security, and give them a certain edge, with their knowledge of ancient and modern technology and lore giving them skills in areas long thought lost, and the sharing of this knowledge to other nations is one of their primary ways of keeping in power.

History

The origin of Teurhoemo is, like all things, unknown. According to the elven, they were sent here by the Builders, to be the true rulers of the Room, and the ones to eventually leave it. They claim that their "True-Home" was to be their capitol of dominance and where they first were placed. Regardless, what is known after the Black Age is that the region of Elvenia was wild and chaotic, but was swiftly put under control of the elven, who seem to have always been there. The elven, weak in military strength, have often suffered from aggression from Mig, but their magical skills have been their main defense, and have allied against Mig over the thousand years. They have remained allies of other nations to stay in power, and have settled into a cycle of power in the realm of Moorod.

Demography and Population

Generally, the top tier of Elvenia, where the rich nobles live is less populated than all the others, and the population increases the further one goes down. The very lower layers has large groups of essentially slaves and the labor forces that keep the supplies of the lower levels going. Birth and death rates depend on the class one is in: the upper classes and nobles are almost guaranteed long life and healthy bodies, while middle and lower classes have to fend for themselves.

Military

The military of Teurhoemo is very small compared to other nations, consisting of only a small but elite group of warriors and assassins, and a larger majority of powerful elven nobles and slaves who are practiced in the art of magic. The vast collection of powerful sorcerers and enchanters form the bulk of their military force, with many high nobles and powerful mages, common mages who perform policing and patrolling duties and jobs considered beneath that of the noble-mages, and trained slave-mages, who are taught to defend their masters and Elvenia with their limited spells. The more secretive and dangerous section of the military consists of the rumored "Blue Blades", which are believed by the less-wise to be mere talk and rumor, but to the leaders of the Room they are quite real. The Blue Blades are formed of elite fighters and assassins, and very little is known about their origin, power structure, and initiation, though many spread dark rumors about them. They serve under the real power of Elvenia, be it the Leredae of the Winernesi, wiping out rivals, assassinating rebels and keeping the people under control through fear, killing enemy leaders and sowing discord in enemy ranks. At their hey day, the Blue Blades made Teurhoemo one of the most powerful nations in all of Moorod, but in modern times, few, in any remain, and they remain behind the scenes still.

Technological Level

The elven have some of the most advanced and intracrite technologies, due to their increadible recording and information crystals, and large knowledge of science and magic. Most citizens have to make by with simple materials they need for their jobs, but the more advanced machines used by the nobles are impressive to say the least, with the powerful use of magite crystals that allow the mages to imbue certain creations with whatever magical properties they so desire.

Religion

There are a plethora of gods and religions that the lower classes pray and worship to, but as for many of the elven, they follow no gods or any faith, rather, believing in their own superiority above all others. Some of the more insane leaders have made themselves to be worshipped as gods, and have created cults of personality. What little faith the elven do have, however, consists of the myth that the Builders placed the elven in the Room to have dominion and to rule over it all, and that it is their destiny to ascend to the "Great Outside". They also belive that their spirits ascend to the next level of reality, a paradise, but other races may also ascend as well, if they please the elven.   In truth, very few elven actually care for such things, merely thinking about the next party of form of entertainment, but their are a few more religious and fanatical elven, who insist on the subjugation and conquest of all of the Room.

Foreign Relations

The elven maintain strong ties with Nephinal, even thought they see themselves as superior to them in every way. In truth, the elven need Nephinal's strong support and resources, and Nephinal in turn needs the magical aid and specialties of Teurhoemo. This defensive and economic partnership has helped to both defend each nation and keep the power of Mig in check, whom the elven regard as barbarians and extremely dislike them.

Agriculture & Industry

Elvenia has almost no agriculture, which is why it relies on the food trade with Nephinal. The lower levels also produce large amounts of materials and resources to feed the insatiable hunger of the nobles, and also refine magite ores and other resources.

Trade & Transport

Elvenia relies upon an ingenious series of pipes, elevators, and convoy belts to transport goods all around their nation. Any small package or supply is ordered to a specific location and address, and then is shuttled through to that location. A few more advanced use specific portals, having a magical circle that is linked with another one somewhere else. This circle-portal connection is also used with other nations such as Nephinal, used to instantly transport goods between the two. However, only the elven have the skills and knowledge of how to create and operate these portals, giving them an edge in transportation.

Education

Education depends on the level of a person. Higher level-raised children receive an intensive education, learning the art of magic and several other things, such as language and reading and the history of the Room. Middle-class dwellers have some years of schooling, but are largely taught at home or with a tutor, or a teacher who teaches children in the area. They typically learn the trade of their family from their parents. The lower-level elven and workers receive little to no education, instead learning how to survive and their trade from their parents, and whatever their masters desire them to perform.

Infrastructure

The entirety of Teurhoemo is located upon a massive stone complex, a huge rectangle that spires out of the misty shroud. That foundation is split into three giant "shelves" or inlets, which form the three levels of the nation. They have built large castle and huge libraries with magnificent spires, floating islands and a docking position, and other large stoned walls and corridors where the commoners live.

Mythology & Lore

According to the few religious elven, the mysterious Builders, who are viewed as a race of gods, created the Room as a test, to see if there different creations and races were worthy. The Builders also formed the elven in their image, intending them to be the dominant race in Moorod, and to rule over the realm. Thus, those who oppose the elven oppose the very gods of the Room themselves, and this gives the elven the idea that they are better than all others.    The freeing of the various races from the Room, based in elven mythology, has many different versions. According to some, when the elven have total dominion, then they will be freed, or the Builders will tear down the Room when the people are worthy. Others claim that the Builders have built in secrets and certain paths that lead out. and it is up to the united nations of Moorod (led by the elven, naturally) to create their own way out. Then will the people be rewarded with a new paradise.
