Weavers of Weft and Wane

Weavers of Weft and Wane

The Weavers of Weft and Wane are the enigmatic and eternal rulers of the Court of Yestermorrow, three ageless ArchFey who sit in solemn silence at the heart of their realm, endlessly weaving the Tapestry of History upon the Loom of Fate. Draped in robes that seem woven from the threads of time itself—shifting between the hues of dawn, dusk, and midnight—the Weavers are embodiments of past, present, and future, their faces ever shrouded by the veils of eternity. Their eyes, when glimpsed through the shifting mists, reflect the boundless expanse of time—one filled with moments that have been, that are, and that may yet come. Though they do not speak, their hands work in unison, guiding the strands of destiny across the loom with practiced precision, each movement shaping the fabric of existence.   As the Weavers add to the Tapestry, their work is reflected almost instantaneously upon the walls of Emone's study, where the god of history and knowledge bears silent witness to the unfolding of time. Some believe that the Weavers shape the very essence of fate itself, determining the course of all events through their careful manipulation of the threads. Others, however, hold that the Weavers merely record the unfolding of destiny, preserving what was, what is, and what could be without imposing their will upon the strands they weave. The truth remains a mystery, for the Weavers do not speak, and their silence leaves mortals and Fey alike to ponder whether the loom controls the world—or if the world controls the loom.   The Loom of Fate is an artifact of incomprehensible power, ancient beyond reckoning, with its threads spun from the echoes of forgotten dreams and the whispers of unborn possibilities. Each thread carries the weight of countless choices, and when woven into the Tapestry, they become a part of the eternal record. The Tapestry itself is a living thing, ever-shifting and changing, as the Weavers adapt and incorporate the infinite variations of mortal decisions and divine interventions. The Weavers’ touch upon the loom is delicate but unerring, ensuring that the strands of history remain intact, even when tangled by chaos or fractured by time.   Bound to their sacred task, the Weavers of Weft and Wane never leave their loom, their devotion to the Tapestry absolute and unwavering. Their isolation is not a matter of preference but of necessity—should they ever abandon their vigil, the threads of history would unravel, and time itself would collapse into chaos. To speak with the Weavers is a rare and dangerous privilege, as they do not acknowledge the passage of time in the same way mortals do. Only those who are brave or foolish enough to gaze upon the Loom of Fate may hear the silent echoes of eternity within their minds, where answers may come, but always at a price.   To represent their court in the ever-shifting politics of The Feywild, the Weavers entrust their voice and will to True Thomas, a mortal bard gifted with prophecy and bound by the eternal truth of his words. Thomas speaks on their behalf, offering counsel and insight drawn from the endless knowledge that flows from the Tapestry. Though he carries their authority, even Thomas does not fully understand the motives of the Weavers or the mysteries they guard. His presence in the Fey Courts ensures that the Court of Yestermorrow maintains its influence while the Weavers continue their eternal vigil, weaving the delicate strands of history into a pattern that only they can truly comprehend.   The Weavers of Weft and Wane are not merely witnesses to time—they are its silent guardians, preserving the delicate balance between what was, what is, and what may yet be. To gaze upon their work is to glimpse eternity, and to question their role is to ponder whether fate is a tapestry woven by unseen hands—or merely a reflection of choices already made.
