Session 39: Orleander Wolves and a Duel

The party saw that one of the Orleander soldiers seemed to be directing others, while one of the lycanthropes seemed to be in charge of the others. They noticed that the main Lycanthrope had an herbal concoction that they had seen before meant to corrupt the Moonwell.

Sirbastien helped to move most of the wedding guests inside, while those who could fight remained outside to help stave off the attackers. The attackers seemed to target the guests to distract the defenders while the lycanthrope leader moved to the Moonwell.

As the lycanthrope with the corrupting seed ignored the battle to head to the Moonwell, the party did their best to protect the guests while trying to distract his advance by taunting him and rushing to attack when they were able. He broke his advance to confront the party and was ultimately slain before reaching the Moonwell, while the Orleander commander was also slain as he tried to help the lycanthrope’s advance.

Once the battle was over, several of the defenders that were attacked posed a potential risk of contracting lycanthropy from their wounds, but Ilbryen was readying to remove curse on the party members, but Thalgion was also wounded by a lycanthrope’s attack.

With the wedding disrupted, the defenders gathered with those who had sought protection within the Silver Lodge. With everyone gathered, it was noticed that Maximillian was missing and the guests grew concerned. It was at this point that the guests were informed of his death and his presumed murder. The party discussed what they knew and spoke to suspects, while Illevaere noticed Saevel discussing matters quietly and in Elven with Thalgion, and overheard portions of their conversation that led them to believe that Thalgion was responsible for the murder. Illevaere confronted Saevel, who stated that Thalgion had admitted his guilt to him, but he wanted to take him away and resolve the matter privately, to protect the family’s name and reputation. Illevaere discussed this with the party and Levi was content to leave the matter as it was.

However, Illevaere called out Thalgion’s guilt before the entire gathered wedding guests and, defending his brother’s honor, Sirbastien challenged Thalgion to a duel in the morning.
