Rovagug (ROH-vah-gug)

Imprisoned since the Age of Creation, the god Rovagug seeks only to destroy creation and the other gods. Believed to be imprisoned in a state of torpor somewhere deep within Monteia, his increasingly restless stirrings are taken by many to be the cause of volcanic activity and earthquakes.

Tenets of Faith

Rovagug sometimes known as the Rough Beast, the Destroyer, and the god of destruction, wrath, and disaster. Rovagug's religion is often associated with chaos, destruction, and the end of the world. Here are some common tenets associated with the worship of Rovagug:
  • Embrace Destruction: Followers of Rovagug revere destruction in all its forms. They believe that annihilation is the ultimate expression of power and that by embracing chaos and devastation, they can bring about their god's vision of a world consumed by destruction.
  • Unleash Chaos: Rovagug's religion promotes chaos as a desirable state. His worshipers seek to disrupt order, sow discord, and undermine structures of society, believing that chaos breeds power and freedom.
  • Embody Wrath: Wrath is a core aspect of Rovagug's teachings. His followers are encouraged to embrace anger, violence, and unrestrained fury. They revel in destruction and take pleasure in inflicting pain and suffering.
  • Pursue Power: Rovagug's worshipers seek personal power through destruction. They believe that by participating in acts of violence and chaos, they can rise in the ranks and gain favor with their god, ultimately acquiring greater strength and influence.
  • Evoke Fear: Rovagug's religion thrives on instilling fear and terror in others. His followers take pleasure in causing panic and despair, as they believe that fear strengthens their god and weakens those who oppose them.
  • Despise Creation: Rovagug's worshipers hold creation and growth in contempt. They view civilizations, life, and order as obstacles to be eradicated. They actively work to undermine and destroy anything that represents progress, growth, or stability.
  • Reject Redemption: Followers of Rovagug see redemption and mercy as weaknesses. They believe that once someone has fallen into the path of destruction, there is no turning back. They scoff at the concept of forgiveness and view acts of compassion as signs of weakness.
  • Unleash Cataclysms: Rovagug's religion encourages his worshipers to bring about catastrophic events and disasters. They actively seek to unleash cataclysmic forces, such as earthquakes, plagues, or other apocalyptic events, with the ultimate goal of engulfing the world in chaos and ruin.
