Foray

Foray Village is a small settlement located in the Wildlands, near the Wildland/Æggland border. However, it's important to note that Æggland asserts its claim over the Wildlands, resulting in a somewhat fluid border situation.

The Æggland Resource Guild, along with its subsidiary, the Æggland Timber Company, sought approval from the royal court to obtain land rights for expanding their timber operations into the Wildlands. Initially, they proposed establishing a standalone resource colony at site 26, but concerns arose within the court regarding the company's ability to support this proposed location. In anticipation of this, the Æggland Timber Company had prepared a backup proposal for a remote extension to the preexsisting site 4 known as site 4-A. While this alternative location may not have been as profitable as their first choice, it still justified the risk associated with the operation.

Ultimately, they were granted ownership and stewardship of 11,000 acres of land, of which 1,000 acres were mandated for sale or provision as part of a new settlement. The Æggland Timber Company was designated as the arbiter of this sale, in accordance with the law. There were concerns within the court about the potential greed of the company, and there was a consideration of establishing a viceroy position in case such problems arose. Fortunately, this contingency was never needed, as the agreement proved to be profitable enough to satisfy all parties and avoid any disputes with the court or the King.

The groundbreaking for site 4-A began on the 13th of Pharast in the year 2188 AF.
