The Fall of the Forgotten God

According to Church doctrine:   The Sins Inherent in Mankind led him astray, into hubris and greed, and tempted him to use Magick and Sorcery; and it was the appeal to the Bringer of Magick which empowered him and made him believe he was more powerful than the Maker; and to rise up against the Maker and the other Gods of Old. And so the Maker was forced to smite down the Bringer of Magick, and to break his body asunder upon the world; and in punishment for Mankind's role in this, he brought down upon the world the Long Winter.
