The Tale of Solomon the Great

Solomon’s story begins at the doorsteps of a Church of Heironeous. Barely a year old, and bundled in cloth, he was left there for the clerics to raise as a child of their god. They did so, training the boy in the codes of chivalry, and combat. He was a talented student, and took well to all that was taught to him. He had a kind heart and aided those in the church who needed it, elders and youths alike. One day, in his early years of adulthood, word spread of a War to the west, one that would determine the fate of the Human race. Orcs were united under a single leader, General Orgritt, a tactical mind of which the human cities were unprepared for. With barely a military ever since the colonization of Liorath, Hillshead was completely unprepared. Solomon saw it as his duty to go and fight, but his elders told him not to get involved. Perhaps it was because he was a human raised by Elves, or perhaps it was because he truly wanted to do good, but Solomon ignored the counsel of his mentors. He rallied those that would follow, which happened to be a great deal, as he’d helped many through the years without asking any in return. They all believed this was a worthy cause, and with Solomon at the lead they were inspired as ever. Along the way, Solomon encountered Lord Variel Whitespire (General at the time) who had also gone against orders by taking a large supply of his men to save the Human race. With the Paladins of Heironeous and the military might of Ty’ren, Solomon and Variel swept through hordes of orcs, and arguably saved Hillshead with their selflessness. Variel became de facto Lord of Skycalm, a city and eventual territory Variel created to watch over Hillshead, should the orcs ever return. Solomon, thanking his friend for the help, took his paladins back East at the end of the war, but somewhere along the way Solomon was met by a mysterious figure, but that is a story for another time...
