The Lost Woods
Geography
The Lost Woods are presumably located somewhere in the Faron province, although many understand that it would be foolish to so firmly state that such a nonsensical place is truly "located" in any one particular spot. As the name implies, the Lost Woods is a forest, although descriptions of what it is like vary from source to source and legend to legend.
History
The Lost Woods is said to be the home of the Sacred Grove, where the mythical Master Sword theoretically resides, and its puzzling nature is meant to be the Sword's safeguard. However, the Woods have grown a mind of their own over the eons, and are a little cheekier and perhaps more sinister than they were when they were only saplings. It is said that the Woods are inhabited only by Koroks in this age, but there are still whispers that the Kokiri, the eternal children of the Era of Time, may have never truly left or died out, only receded deeper and deeper into the strangest, most labyrinthine paths of the Woods. It is hard to know what is true.
Tourism
The Lost Woods is not a place that one can find; that would be against its very nature. However, it is a recorded phenomenon that Hyrulean citizens, from all across the country, will stumble out of the brush into Ordon or one of the townships in Faron, wildly disoriented and telling stories of strange music and laughing children. It seems that little tendrils of the Woods trace throughout all of Hyrule, without any respect for the laws of space and distance, and no other force could decide who visits the Woods and when.
