Mizuna
218 P.C.
In the pursuit of profit above all else, the nation of Mizuna consumed itself. The edifices of the late empire are crumbling as wilderness reclaims the city of Karota - but flickers of civilization still endure. Powered by solar runes and enchanted root networks, the city’s clans, communes, and corporations fight to rebuild. There is good in the communities that have formed, but evil still roams the overgrown streets, reminding the city’s residents that they have not yet defeated the last and greatest monsters of the old regime.
Into this world emerge two enemies ripped from the pages of history. Silas was once the commander of the People’s Coalition, fighting for equality and justice against the necromancer Monarch Ellani, who utilized the power of the dead to great and terrible effect. The world never recovered when the two of them vanished a thousand years ago in the midst of battle, and when they finally reemerge onto the streets of Karota, the world they both worked so hard to build has been utterly destroyed.
Silas and Ellani now circle each other in a lethal dance as they form new alliances, seek answers to their questions, and try to adapt to a world that forgot them long ago. Though they must face horrors and magic beyond their understanding, the biggest obstacle in their way is each other.
