Session 18: Arrival at Baldur's Gate

Upon entering Baldur’s Gate Rahl handed some money to Tanaelia to help purchase some healing potions before he split off from the group to find some good to do and Jameak followed to keep him out of trouble. Tanaelia started by looked for a temple to ask about a good place to find potions and magic items. She was pointed a direction that eventually lead her to a dark alley and a temple to Shar. Seeing a dark and apparently empty temple and having a brief and strange encounter with one of it's occupants Tanaelia left and eventually found herself at Jasper's Alley Emporium, a shop ran by a goblin with an eyepatch. She bought two healing potions and helped Mitzu buy a magical Howler Cloak. Meanwhile Rahl and Jameak stumbled upon a woman yelling for help and being attacked by a cockatrice. They defeated it without too much trouble and saved the woman. She thanked them profusely and then lead them back to the Elfsong Tavern when they asked for a good place to find work. Getting there heard a song by the spectral elf for which the tavern is named and then they worked out a deal with the owner to provide entertainment and song later that night. Jameak said he had an idea to possibly find out more information, but agreed it would be best to find their contact Ackyn Selebon first and meet up with Tanaelia and Mitzu. After some discussion with Selebon they headed to a tavern in the outer city called The Whispering Pearl and Jameak ordered a drink called Green Fey which Rahl seconded and Tanaelia declined. Seeing the special written on a board was Spanferkel he ordered some for the table. After a few minutes a man brought them their drinks and sat down with them striking up a conversation that made it clear that he knew Jameak from some time before. He introduced himself as Larion. After some further conversation he said that he should be able to help them get hired on with the group they wanted, or baring that at least with the same caravan their mark would be traveling with and furthermore said he planned to travel with the caravan as well. Another server brought out the Spanferkel and they started eating their meal.
