Bargains with Others
Others are capable of breaking some of the rules, such as those that are usually used to bind the Oathsworn. The trades that most Others might perform, and the effects such trades have on your person, are outlined here.
Deals Made
- Swear on your "x/y"
- Sign the Contract
- Something Physical
- A Trade of Karma
Manifestation
A deal manifests differently depending on the type of Other. A Boogyman's deal might feel like a shiver up the spine or a sudden urge to throw oneself under the covers as part of a deal, while a Fey Lord might seal their deal with a kiss or a dance. Whatever the form may be, once the deal is done, it cannot be broken without grave consequences. Sometimes Others provide some loophole or method by which a Practitioner can escape the deal, most often its some task or catch that requires a great adventure to escape the oath made. Something so difficult that it might as well be impossible.
It is unknown presicely why so many Others seem to use this method, but it seems that they most often take perverted joy in watching a practitioner suffer eternally trying to escape the deals they have made.
Finally, even those who have not had their eyes opened to the Stage, and remain behind the Curtain can accidentally agree to contracts and deals, such things often result in Practitioners, but its a method by which Others get by the inability to affect everyone behind the Curtain. They can still feast, it just requires a little more preparation.
