S4E3: The Bumpy Road to Kan Gha Roo

With vengeance in Jack's sights, Sam Fatts' Crew repairs to Otakou for resupply. While there they also spend some of the gold they got from returning The Time Machine to Redfoot the Relentless. Cieth got a magical set of plate armor in any color he wanted, Skark commissioned some silvered arrows, since they're going to be fighting some vampires, and Jack himself got a set of magical halfplate that not only came in any color he wanted, but was additionally enchanted to always remain clean. Tiki also got a fancy snowglobe.   Tiki and Jack, on separate occasions, met Sebastian the Seagull, who was headed their direction. Jack also messed with a scammer, and obtained his forgery kit and all the gold the scammer had made. (It wasn't much - he wasn't a very good scammer)   With purchases made and wanting to waste no time (except maybe to shave Sam's eyebrows while he slept) the party continued sailing toward the Badlands and Kan Gha Roo's camp. While en route, Skark heard from the Wailer he had hired to find the Crossroads Demon. The message was: "I found him. He's in Gehenna, but he is very dangerous." Although the party recalled the strengths and weaknesses of demons - immune to non-magical physical damage and typically fire, weak to radiant damage - they still took the warning to heart. In any event, they didn't immediately have a way to get to the Afterrealm, and had more pressing matters to attend to. On the subject of weaknesses, the group also remembered that putting a stake in a vampire's heart only paralyzes it until the stake is removed, and to kill a vampire permanently, they need to remove its gravedirt from its coffin, and then sanctify the whole thing.   After a few days, they also found that Sebastian had stowed away, since he was going back to the Aleated Ceraclops with reports on what he had learned about a potential way to resurrect and strengthen Amelia. They learned a bit more about the backstory of the rift between him and T'lula'taku, Our Lady of Despair. They were lovers once upon a time, but according to the Aleated Ceraclops' story, she jilted him. Upon learning who the party was, Sebastian felt it was an awkward encounter, but Tiki wanted to parley. So they went with Sebastian to the alchemy lab. There they found that the Aleated Ceraclops, whom Tiki decided to name Jefferson, had already completed one of his plans to rebuild Amelia - literally, by making her a half-woman, half-machine, like a steampunk cyborg. He wanted to have her fight the party then and there, but Tiki argued against it. She attempted to recruit him and Amelia to fight Alyssa and Kan Gha Roo instead. Although he was not completely convinced, he agreed to at least an armistice and offered them 10 vials of Alchemists' Fire in case it would be helpful.   Tiki also convinced them to attempt a reincarnation with her druid powers. She repurposed the Essential Oils as spell components, and Amelia was reincarnated into a Mountain Dwarf, a strong and sturdy form she was quite pleased with. Tiki and Adlai stayed behind while Amelia's cybernetics were refitted, and when the rest of the group got back to the boat so they could go do advanced recon on Kan Gha Roo's encampment, Wanda was horrified to hear that they left Tiki there, and decided to at least wait with her.   Meanwhile, Jack, Cieth, and Skark snuck to the encampment. They climbed up one of the mountains and noticed that there were spotters keeping an eye on approaches to the camp. Fortunately, especially with Skark's Ranger magic, they were unnoticed. They ambushed one of the spotters, quickly detained him and disarmed him, fortunately finding his hidden signal flare and began interrogation. They were told that there were no secret entrances to the camp, which seemed believable, and also that Kan Gha Roo was not there current, which seemed slightly less but still somewhat believable. They couldn't get any more from him, as he claimed complete loyalty to the one he followed due to promises of glorious eternal unlife. His last words as he was thrown down the mountain were "For the Prince, calling into question who his ultimate loyalty was to.
