December Recap aka "How Worldember went"
The month is already over again. And this year I've been able to fininsh World Ember. Well, only if you include BBCode, but I'll take it. I now for some people I missed the goal, but that's okay. Everyone should do this as they see fit :) And as this month was completely dedicated to World Ember, I only wrote articles for that. As I already did a mid-month-recap sort of thing, I will just leave you a link to my WE progress page. Just in case you want to read any of those articles. But now let's focus on the other articles I wrote during December.
So this was my December and it was rather productive. So now for January I already have a lot of plans:
The first on is about Fire Slugs. It was just a conversation on Discord where somebody suggested I could write about a snake. I went from snake to giant firespitting slugs, but I think it still counts. And it even has some stats that fit my TTRPG system.
I also joined the "If I was a dragon"-challenge by Haly. At first I wanted to write about an elder women, talking to a Kadal (one of my sentient species) girl about dragons. In the end it would have turned out, that she is a dragon herself. But someone published an article with pretty much that idea before me, so I changed my approach and I did something, I haven't done in a long time. And certainly not in English. I wrote a poem!
With the next article about my Bloomwardens I went deeper into the culture of the Augalai. This is one of, if not the, most important profession of their society. They take care of the growing Augalai sapplings so the whole species does not go extinct. Learn more about what that means in this article.
And while you are at it, also check out the information about Verdant Cradles. It is the crucial technology without which the Augalai wouldn't exist anymore and the day to day business of the Bloomwardens. And it might be the best secured secret of the Augalai society. This or the secret of the Luzidium Wood.
At the end I wrote an article for Tyrdal's Longest Journey challenge, Part 4. It is a character that I really enjoyed writing. Especially as I was able to use my new Adventurer group section for a part of the content. A new way for me to display NSFW content in an elegant way. At least I consider it elegant, so please let me know what you think of it.
So this was my December and it was rather productive. So now for January I already have a lot of plans:
- pick 10 articles for the NYR article and review them
- write an article for the 12in12 challenge about transition
- structure 9 category pages and write the introductions
- rework an article for submission to the WAWA
- maybe join the cozy challenge
- hopefully write some really important content, like a new playable species
You have accomplished so much! I can't wait to see more of Mirintha <3
Thank you for your kind words. And while I have certainly added a lot of articles since summer camp, I still lack the really essential once. Hopefully I can change that this year :)
