The Golden Duck

In the capital of the Empire of Dercia Pearlhal lies a small but well visited bathhouse, its located near the intersection of two major streets in the capital, between the central markets and the cities harbour district. During the day, The Golden Duck is bustling with travellers, merchants and other visitors who wish to take a relaxing bath and wash the dust of the city from their bodies.   But unlike other bathhouses in the city, which are all still busy well into the early night, The Golden Duck is empty as soon as the sun reaches a certain level over the horizon. It's said that strange sounds are heard coming from within certain chambers - soft tapping as if nails scraped the walls and doors opening without anyone there. Locals believe that the bathhouse are built atop some ancient remains of inhabitant of the city, some that were never found in the ruins during some of the sieges the city have withnessed. Other locals believe that the sounds are spirits coming for much the same reason the mortals visit the place, to relax. From time to time, there are some youngsters who dare each other to stay a night in the bathhouse, they all report back the same, that they could hear nails on the walls and like wet footsteps from behind them. Likewise, they all say that the temperature of the bathhouse falls dramatically almost at once, it goes from a steamy hot temperature to near freezing.   Over the years, multiple owners of the bathhouse have had priests come to maybe drive the spirits away, put them to rest, but so far all the priest have claimed the same thing, that there are no spirits or beings for them to drive away. According to the priests, the building is normal, like all the others around it.
