Talla

Talla is an old city by the standards of the Dercian region; it was founded more than 2000 years ago by refugees fleeing from a natural catastrophe. For most of its history Talla have had nothing of importance to its name other than being the site of several battles during the First unification war were forces from Pearlhal and those states it fought at that given point in time, met and fought, the city itself was besieged 5 times during the period and countless times were able to witness a battle from the citywalls. Following Pearlhals' victory in the war and peace settling over the region, the city rebuilt itself and at some point became the home to a large university for magic users specialising in healing magic.   The university consists of the Dark Halls of Amara, named after a healer who lived and taught at the university. There are also herb gardens, where the magic ingredients for the healing spells are grown. The university also has a large library containing all sorts of books.   Today, Talla is a quiet but lively city, most of the inhabitants are connected to the university in some way or form through their work, others are farmers, craftspeople and tavern owners. The people of Talla are known for being calm, practical and a bit eccentric. The city markets, unlike markets in other cities, seem to be in no rush; the vendors speak in hushed tones and announce their wares through the chiming of a bell instead of the classical shout.   There are two taverns that evey citizen of the city knows, the Bleeding cure are known as the typical hangout place for the students of the university, while the Honeyspoon are well known for its catering to merchants.
