Nalith Resin

Nalith Resin is a light amber resin that is harvested from the Nalith tree. The tree exudes a sweet but pungent scent when burned and has long been used in incense and as a sealing agent.   Imperial officials use the Nalith Resin to waterproof their tubes uses to transport scrolls, likewise, in temples its used as part of incense due to the smell it gives when burned, the resin also burn slower than other resins and can therefor be used for a longer period.     The Nalith Resin also have another use, if the resin is put through some extra steps of refinement and inhaled, Nalith Resin can be used as a powerful psychoactive that grant the user temperary nightvision along with a hightened hearing, if taken before sleep, it can result in vivid dreams with the users saying that they have seen hidden truths or the location of their long lost house key.   While on the surface, the Nalith Resin in its refined form seem to provide some very useful benefits, it does have some serious downsides if it's used too much or for too long, the user can become seriously addicted and in some cases they lose their senses and will walk around the streets during nighttime in a zombie like state until their body sucumb to lack of nourisment.   The Nalith Resin is a product that are highly regulated, its legal to harvest and sell it with the intense of it becoming incense, the drug version are outlawed and those found with it, will most likely face serious jail time.
