Masho

The Masho lives in deep, mist-cloaked forests far to the north, in a region known known as mashohalan to outsiders and just halan to the Masho people. The region they inhabit consists of towering silverwoods and ruins covered in moss, the ruins are said to date back to even before the Ancient Empire. Its a land that are hard to navigate to the outsiders with its ancient paths shifting with the season or for no apparent reason, and rivers that sometimes vanish underground.   The Masho themself have a pale skin with a faint sheen to it that sometimes carry undertones of silver or green. Their hair typically takes the colours of a deep emerald or blue-black colour that goes well with their luminous green, amber or soft gold eye colours with their pupils being slightly elongated. While it vary from person to person, they typically have a slender and slighly taller on average than humans.   They see tend to keep to themself and rarely leaves their forests, they are not outright hostile towards outsiders but they are cautious and their main motivation for helping outsiders are for them to leave their forests as fast as possible.   As the Masho dont have any written language of their own, they are instead experts in telling stories and remembering stories, some of the stories they have, are said to date back to the first Masho people, due to their focus on the spoken word, they value a slow but precise speech over a quick one and its seem as being thoughtless if one speaks to swiftly or unprecise.   When the Masho have to defend their forests, they are experts in ambush tactics and are using their knowledge of the forests to its fullest, their favorite weapons are a short spear and their arrows are often treated with the sap from the silverwoods that paralyses the enemy, the sap rarely kill the target but it does leave it vulnerble to a followup attack or gives the Masho enough time to retreat.   Their magic is tied with moonlight and the mist of the forest, making them experts in concealment, illusions and the like, their druids are called Veythari, no translation of the word into common or Dercian exists but the nearest translation translates it roughly into something like mistguids.   Its known that the Masho worship a deity related to their forests but so far no outsiders have ever witnesed a ritual to this deity, the only known thing about their religion are that they find the hours around dawn and dusk to be important.   Despite only having a minimal amount of relations with the outside world, they tend to view other races with some levels or pity or respect, like the Felari are viewed with a an interest in their agility while the Crienia are viewed with a certain amount of begruding respect for the Crienias dicipline and achievements but they are also viewed with suspecion as for now, the Masho land are outside the borders of the Empire of Dercia but even for the Masho, its hard to predict the future borders.

They sound like a very striking looking people. I like their emphasis on ambush tactics and the fact their language is completely oral.
