Gaiar Tiberian Caspian

Gaiar Tiberian Caspian was the king of the city-state of Arcellum, a small but strategically located state, overlooking the entrance of the Ley river. This position had made the city-state very wealthy over the years.   Gaiar was born as the third son of the ruling king then and grew up learning philosophy, mathematics and warfare from an early age. When he was around 16 years old, the city-state had joined a local coalition of cities in the hopes of fighting off the encroachment of the Kingdom of Dercia who over the years had expanded its borders so that it now bordered the Gaiars nation.    The fighting was shortlived as the coalition lost three battles and during the battles, Gaiars father was killed alongside Gaiars two brothers, making him the next in line for the throne and one of his first acts as king was to sue for peace.   As part of the peace deal, Gaiar was allowed to keep his throne but his kingdom was reduced to a vassal state.   For the next 20 years, the region was at peace, but the tensions were still high and one night, some soldiers from Pearlhal after a night of heavy drinking entered a brawl with some locals and it ended with the death of one local. As a result, the city erupted in riots and the Garrison from Pearlhal was killed, Gaiar seeing a chance for independence, and he hoped that Pearlhal would ignore the rebellion because they were busy on other fronts where the war was going badly and for some time.   Gaiar managed to drive other occupation garrisons from his territory and due to a very limited response from Pearlhal, he thought he was free, the freedom only lasted three years before four Legions were besieging the capital of Acellum.   Gaiar were driven into exile in one of the most remote cities of the continent, a city that a little under 300 years later, would fall to the legions of Pearlhal.
