Eye of the well
At the edge of the Empire of Dercia lies a small forgotten village with an ancient well, the well is older than anyone can remember. The stone walls of the well are worn smooth from centuries of use and wind.
"If you’re smart, you’ll stay clear of that well. It’s not the water you’ll be pulling up—it’s something far worse. You’ll see it, and once you do, it’ll never stop watching."No one has dared to draw water from the well for as long as anyone alive can recall. Locals talk about the Eye of the Well, it's a story that has been passed down through the generations in hushed whispers. Stories go that back in time when the well was still used, it was the lifeblood of the village, providing fresh water to the people. Still, at some point, things started to happen, at first people claimed they could hear a low murmur coming from the depths of the well, sometime later the sightings began, villagers who peered over the edge swore they could see a faint glow, like a pale light flickering at the bottom, as time passed the villagers began to notice that the light started to take shape, that of a single, unblinking eye. The villagers who still remember the stories say that once you have seen the eye, it sees you too. No matter where you go or how far you run, it's there watching. At some point, the well was covered with a lid, stone placed on top, people started to move away from the village shortly after. The villagers say that they could still hear the murmurs of the well, and late at night, they could still hear the faint whispers coming from the well. Once you have heard it, the villagers say, you are left with a feeling of wonder, wondering what would happen if you looked down the well.
Nope nope nope nope nope. Terrifying.
