Elaris Thiravel

Elaris stand as one that are born to the forest rather than raised in it. Like most of her kind, Elaris is of slender build, athletic and graceful, moving effortlessly around the forest with a quiet confidence; she never hurries without good reason. From a young age, Elaris was trained in herbal lore; she knows how to either find the right plant to make into medicine or to make into a lovely cup of tea. In the few instances where Elaris has had to draw her weapons, she prefers to use throwing knives, and over decades of training, she has become deadly precise with those, but even then, she prefers to avoid confrontation, instead moving around to attack from the flanks, never from behind, finding it degrading to attack from behind.   Curious about other cultures, she often travels out from her forest, especially once she reached adulthood at 60. She often visits the local human settlements and is well-known in many villages, once she got to know one better, she becomes warm and affectionate and will go out of her way to help her friends.    Typically, Elaris will wear garments of pale green and soft cream colors, light fabrics that are wrapped and layered rather than stitched, clothing that is meant to move with the body, not restrict it. She wears clasps and arm-bands that are gold-threaded and adorned with flowing patterns that are inspired by motives from the tropical forest around her. Her attire, due to the high humidity and general high temperature of the forest, leaves plenty of exposed skin.    Coming from a people that value balance, memory, and restraint, and while Elaris' openness in dress are seen as a bit much by some of her kin, it is part of her people's view of associating it with closeness with nature. Her clasps and arm bands are inherited from her ancestors and designate her as the oldest daughter of her family.
