Werewolf Pack

Table of Contents
A smaller family structure within a Werewolf clan that acts as a unit in politics, business, and combat.

Structure

Leading Couple

The leader makes the final decisions in all matters that concern the pack as a whole. If the leader has a spouse, both partners make these decisions together. Leadership over a pack is passed on to their oldest child when the latter proves themselves worthy, at which point the former leaders will become combatants.

Combatants

This group consists of pack members between late puberty and retirement age. They are responsible for hunting and defending the clan as a strategic unit under the command of the leading couple. When it comes to the family business, they do most of the work.

Elders

Pack members who are too old for hunting or battle take on the role of advisors. They also assist with caring for the pack's children and running the family business.

Children

Pack members below combatant age are protected by the others. As they grow older, they might contribute to the family business by taking on easy tasks.

Culture

Family Ties

Typically, a pack consists of the pack leader, their siblings, and their parents. When the clan leader marries, their spouse becomes part of the pack, and so will any children born from that marriage.

Common Cause

A pack counts as a single voice when it comes to politics within the clan. Furthermore, they tend to run a business together, such as forging weapons or sewing clothes.

Reforged Packs

Natural disasters or battles between rival clans can fragment existing packs by killing a majority of their members.
After such events, survivors might choose to merge the remnants of their old packs into a new one. For example, a leading couple might adopt orphans or take in their friends as if they were siblings.
