Elemental Seal

An item is charged with the essence of one specific element. This strong presence of said element will cancel out the magical powers of somebody attuned to the one on the opposite side of the Elemental Circle.   Due to the cost of creating them and the power that they hold, their use is mostly limited to law enforcement organizations. They are typically combined with mundane restraints to prevent people from using their powers to escape.

A seal for suppressing a primary element also dampens powers related to the adjacent secondary elements. The effect, however, is significantly weaker.

Preparation

The Artefact

At the heart of the seal, there is a container that holds something related to the element. The material of the container itself must not conflict with it.  

• Air: pressurized gas in a glass capsule
• Energy: heated coal in a stone or clay container
• Ground: stone in a glass container
• Water: water in a stone or clay container
• Plant: a plant in a stone or wood container
• Fog: steam in a stone container
• Fire: a flame in a metal container
• Lava: molten glass in a metal or stone container

  To prevent manipulation, they are usually reinforced with some other sturdy material that does not interfere with that particular element.

The Infusion

After the seal was crafted, it needs to be charged with the essence of the represented element. This needs to be done by an exceptionally strong wielder and takes considerable amounts of time and effort.   The wielder needs to direct an elemental current towards the seal's core, then force it to stop before passing through. The material inside the core greatly helps with anchoring it there.
