Session 41
Sylrieth and Qimys decided to stay at Redford Keep under the protection of The Sovereign's Shadow, after being shown their accomodations and after Qidius Hazeflower had promised to take care of them. The Party said their farewells, and promised Qimys that they would visit. Qidius and Parker Adams recommended two taverns to the group, and they opted to check out the Gruesome Hamsters tavern on the north side of town.
The group made their way through town, with the sun setting to the west. The long shadows cast made the town seem darker, yet just as vibrant, then shortly before. They passed by peddlers and pickpockets, until finally they arrived at the Gruesome Hamsters. They could hear the music from the outside, and as they entered the tavern, the warm and friendly atmosphere became apparent. They walked to the bar, and introduced themselves to the bartender, a young, extremely tall human woman with short brown hair named Peria Webb. Bloodbane immediately took a liking to her and began to hit on her, in his own way. After she rebuked his attempts several times over, the half-orc barbarian gave up. At least temporarily. While at the bar drinking, they overheard a group of nearby patrons discussing the nearby Envaris estate.
Typhon asked about this home, and the townsman told him about the rumor of the treasure there and how Lady Envaris was allegedly involved in the occult. He went on to detail how apparently she had killed her children in some sort of ritual sacrifice, which caused the townsfolk to storm her home and kill her, but the property was unable to be destroyed for some reason. Now the property is haunted, and folks keep getting scared off. Naturally the allure of treasure was enough to entice Typhon into asking about the location. Feeling plucky, Typhon tipped the drink of the patron, upsetting him to the point of a bar fight. Typhon used his dust of sneezing and choking, disabling him instantly. Terrified and unable to breath, the patron ran out of the bar, leaving his friend behind. Typhon then turned his attention to the remaining patron, and pressed him for more information on Lady Envaris and her estate. Not having much more information, Typhon tipped his drink as well. The man didn't want trouble and left immediately. Typhon and Bloodbane decided to visit the estate and investigate the rumors the following night.
That night, however, the pair decided to check out the local magic store, Falling Feather Magic Shop. While there, they met with the merchant - a Tiefling named Aranil. There, the pair of adventurers purchased a few small items before heading back to the tavern. They asked Peria if there was anything interesting in town, such as an underground fight club. Peria confirmed, clarifying that it's not exactly underground; that in fact, it takes place out on the street between the tavern and the bakery and that the next one is slated to take place in two days. The group decided to get some rest for the night, and would head out to investigate the Envaris estate the following day.
