Kas'alia (Darkness Falls)
Kas'alia was built in a relative hurry, (mostly) by Humans, coming together once they realized the Convergence was imminent. As much as the shared goal of survival drove them to cooperate, over time the inhabitants of Kas'alia realized that cultural differences made coexisting very difficult. After almost five centuries, this uneasy union finally fell apart and Kas'alia was the first Haven to open up its gates because tensions grew so violently, that it was their only choice to not take up arms against each other.
Once the Gates opened, most denizens chose to split up from each other to finally be able to follow their own belives. Some traveled west, hoping for the fabled riches of the Shona, others went east and came upon Thespaeia, opening the gates and help found the Thespian Realm, while others dared enter the jungle even further to the east, stumbling upon Lake Ban, building the settlement Skitamis at it's shore and eventually joining the V'strimon Realm, once Askalon had opened its gates. In the end, this wound up being the catalyst for many more Haven cities being reopened, as they were discovered by the Kas'alian people.
However, a few remaining settlers saw opportunity. Kas'alia was abandoned but still offered great safety and opportunity for housing. Also, being located between The Marrow and the Mesaia, between forests and a River, they realized this was a very valuable plot of land and potentially center to trade routes.
Ultimately, they wound up being both right and wrong. As more and more traders came through, Bartertown was founded and is probably the first and only tradehub in Mindosza. However, shortly after trying to repopulate Kas'alia, earthquakes shook the Mountain, bringing large portions of the Haven City to cave in, killing hundreds. When trying to rescue these lost souls many more denizens never came back from the depths of the Mountain. By today, Kas'alia is known as the Darkness Falls and strange noices, the voices of the dead or the rumblings of the mountain can be heard at all times. Some tales even speak of Horrors, that took hold of the former haven, bringing a cold chill to the spine, being as close to Barterertown as it is.
Some Adventurers, mostly from Bartertown try to explore the depths, few ever come back.
