Noerm
Noerm is a habitable desert world, notable for being the homeworld of the Noermers and the capital of the Oracularity of Noerm. The planet is the second satellite of the Olphon System, and has one orbiting moon of its own. While the surface of Noerm is covered in dry dunes and rocky mesas, a vast network of flooded tunnels, caves, and subterranean seas crisscrosses the planet. Much of the planet's biosphere has developed in these dark subsurface oceans, including the Noermers. The underground seas are connected to the surface by oases, where most land-based life lives.
The planet's urban regions are located on the surface, following the mass migration of Noermers after the development of mobile bio-tanks. Cities are constructed with the containment units in mind, featuring hard surfaces and large walkways. Virtually all of the Noermer population lives in urban areas, as they are unable to participate in the types of economic activity typically associated with rural regions. Instead, sectors like mining and farming are entirely automated, either through large machinery or non-intelligent synthetics. In more recent years, some xeno migrants have taken up residence in rural areas, working in professions the native Noermer are not suited to.
